One Weekend Popup Store: New Manual at Isetan

The Isetan Shinjuku popup store back in March 2023 proved a big success, and so we are doing it again. The second popup store will be held for just two days over one weekend.

The store this time will include retail of limited numbers of the Isetan-exclusive #001 T-BACK DENIM JACKET ISETAN EXCLUSIVE II created especially for this event, and the #002 1942 LV JEANS ISETAN EXCLUSIVE pants that can even be worn with a suit!

With vintage work performed by carefully selected craftspeople on even those processes that are normally overlooked, everything from the paintwork to coloring hold a unique look even among Director Yutaka Fujihara's current collection.

#001. T-BACK DENIM JACKET ISETAN EXCLUSIVE Ⅱ

Based on a denim jacket made in 1941-1942. The silhouette is characterized by drop shoulders, thick sleeves, and a short body with no cinching. Adopts T-BACK* detail, which can be said to be Fujiwara's icon. The stitching and details, such as needle movement and sewing direction, are based on those days, but with modern strength added, and the silhouette, such as the length and armholes, have also been made with modern fine adjustments. Vintage processing, in which selected craftsmen go into processes that are not normally performed, reproduces items with special expressions from Fujiwara's collection, from paint processing to discoloration. This is called #001T-BACK DENIM JACKET ISETAN EXCLUSIVEⅡ.

*The back is separated into a T-shape. In order to increase the size of the back body, which would normally be made with one piece of fabric, two pieces of fabric were joined at the center of the back.

#002 1942 LV JEANS ISETAN EXCLUSIVE

The base is the 5PKT denim pants made in 1941-1942, which is the oldest model of Fujiwara's denim. These pants are a pair of top and bottom pants with #001, and are a rare item that are rarely available as a set. While the pattern is based on that time, Fujiwara modified the original hemline to better fit the Japanese body type. I made it roomy so that it doesn't dig in.

The rise is slightly deep, and the straight silhouette has a thin taper from the jump to the hem. This time, we specially reproduced the paint processing and discoloration that would be used as a set up with the #001 jacket. Like #001, it has a luxurious construction that takes time and effort through vintage processing by selected craftsmen who go through processes that are not normally performed.
